COVID-19 and Your Wellbeing â #Coping Guides for Children, Young People and Families
Over the past few weeks, the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis has caused major disruptions to family life, through the introduction of social distancing, school closures and now effective lockdown.
In difficult times like these, looking after our mental health is just as important as taking care of our physical health. It’s normal for everyone to feel anxious at the moment, and children and young people of all ages are just as affected as adults by the worry and stress coronavirus can cause.
Families may also be overwhelmed by the constant influx of information and misinformation, online and elsewhere. Yet helping children and young people to build their resilience and to deal with change and uncertainty has never been more vital.
Children and young people are having to cope with sudden change in their social lives, daily routines and access to education while families face challenges associated with spending extended periods together at home.
To support the wellbeing of children and young people during the coronavirus pandemic, East Berkshiore Clinical Commissioning Group have put together three concise guides for parents and carers and for children and young people themselves.
The guides list some of the best reliable and free sources of information and advice to help children and young people and their families to cope with life under lockdown.
